Hyderabad Airport Hits Record 2.7M Passengers in December 2024
Hyderabad Airport recorded 2.7M passengers in December 2024, marking 20% YoY growth. Domestic and international traffic hit all-time highs.

Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), managed by GMR Airports, achieved its highest-ever monthly passenger traffic in December 2024, exceeding 2.7 million passengers. This represents a year-over-year increase of 20 per cent and a month-over-month rise of 7 per cent. The airport has consistently handled over 2 million passengers monthly since October 2023.
Domestic passenger traffic reached a record 2.3 million in December 2024, reflecting a 23.2 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2023. International passenger traffic also reached its highest level, with 430,000 passengers, marking a 6.1 percent year-over-year growth.
For the first nine months of FY2025, Hyderabad Airport handled 21.4 million passengers, a 15.2 per cent increase compared to the same period in FY2024. In the third quarter of FY2025 alone, the airport saw 7.7 million passengers, representing a 22 per cent year-over-year growth.
Aircraft movements at the airport also reached unprecedented levels. In December 2024, the airport recorded 17,507 aircraft movements, an increase of 17 per cent compared to December 2023 and a 5 per cent rise from the previous month. The busiest single day for aircraft movements occurred on December 12, 2024, with 583 recorded movements. Year-to-date aircraft movements for FY2025 totaled 146,672, a 14 per cent increase from the same period in FY2024.
December 22, 2024, marked the busiest day for passenger traffic, with approximately 92,000 passengers passing through the airport. In FY2024, Hyderabad Airport handled 25.04 million passengers and recorded 173,798 aircraft movements.
